lakesha legree, md
Dr. Legree hails from the Midwest where she is proud to be an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame; “Fighting Irish ‘til death do us part,” is what she always proclaims! Prior to medical school, Dr. Legree held various positions with the prestigious pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN. She subsequently followed her husband to the east coast and completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Legree loves being able to focus on one patient at a time, providing them with her undivided attention and 150% effort. This not only yields a safe outcome but also an outstanding patient experience and ultimately an enhanced quality of life for that patient. Because of tons of hospital red tape and corporate red tape, this became increasingly difficult and led to many frustrations. This same red tape became exhausting and binding, preventing Dr. Legree from doing what she absolutely loves the most: being a mom.Through prayer and meditation, Dr. Legree began brainstorming on how she could offer patients a personalized experience as an anesthesiologist while simultaneously being able to be present and available to her family. Having witnessed first-hand, almost daily, the positive impact Ketamine had on patients, Dr. Legree knew that this would be the nucleus towards changing the lives of so many people who suffer from mental illness and chronic pain disorders. Since this realization, she has poured her heart and soul into creating, developing and nurturing Elev8 MD Wellness Center with hopes of reaching the masses within North and South Carolina and beyond.
In addition to being the owner and Medical Director of Elev8 MD Wellness Center, Dr. Legree is also a locums Anesthesiologist, a member of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC and a proud member of the South Charlotte Jack and Jill Incorporated Organization.
